A big thank you for a very successful 2018 tournament:
At the recent Gilles-Barbeau 2018 Golf Tournament, the community demonstrated that it cares about the well-being of Francophone seniors. Funds of $16,495 were raised for the 9th edition of this annual gathering of Francophones and Francophiles for the benefit of Centres d’Accueil Héritage (CAH).
On September 8, the summer heat wave temporarily called a break to offer the 60 participants an ideal day of golf on the Bethesda Grange course in Stouffville. There was a good mood in each team. It must be said that the pressure is greatly reduced during this type of tournament where each player positions his next shot at the location of the best ball played by his entire team at the previous shot. The golfers laughed at the bullets sent into the bushes (there were some!) and applauded everyone’s good shots. CLICK on the pictures to see the souvenir album of the day!
31 sponsors and more than 50 donors
This year, the golf organizing committee encouraged the generosity of 31 sponsors and more than 50 donors in cash or in kind, not to mention many dynamic volunteers. Their donations and sponsorships will allow CAH to subsidize community meals (to reduce the isolation of seniors), transportation for some of its Adult Day Program clients (to provide respite for their caregivers), and supplies for CAH programs (to preserve the autonomy of its clients at risk).
