Head of Food Services
Centres d’Accueil Héritage (CAH) is looking to hire for the position of Head of Food Services (including the Kitchen and Dining Room). CAH offers home-cooked meals in our building located in the Esplanade/St Lawrence Market neighbourhood of Toronto. Our clientele is composed mainly of seniors living in our building as well as members of our Elderly Persons’ Centre. The Head of Food Services will have the role of head chef and is responsible for providing efficient food preparation services, for buying provisions and maintaining a proper inventory according to a defined budget, for preparing healthy menus, and offering pleasant dining room service. The candidate is also responsible for supervising all kitchen and dining room staff and ensuring the sanitation of the food (during storage and preparation), of kitchen equipment, of the kitchen and the dining room as well as of the hygiene of the food services staff. The person will also be counted on to provide a welcoming atmosphere in the dining room and work cooperatively with the social activities team. The Head of Food Services will understand that our main goal is to be able to offer good quality of life to the seniors who use our services.
The candidate must have the following qualifications:
- a chef training or culinary management diploma or certificate ;
- a Food Handler’s Certificate from the City of Toronto ;
- some proficiency in speaking French would be an asset ;
- be comfortable working with seniors in a diverse multicultural community.
