"I saw how important the framework of services CAH could offer my mother was (home care, case manager)."
Testimonial from Vanessa Cangé
Vanessa Cangé joined the board of directors last May. She had long devoted her free time to the parents’ council at her three children’s school, but it was time to consider another way to get involved in her community.
Then, Safia Fakim, a board member at CAH since 2021 and a former colleague of Vanessa, invited her to participate in the 2023 Toronto Challenge. Afterward, she suggested that she attend a board meeting. This allowed Vanessa to understand how this board has an impact on people.

In the meantime, her mother, who had been a client of CAH services for a while and had been on the waiting list for a few years for an apartment at Place Saint-Laurent, finally secured her spot in the CAH building.
“I saw how important the framework of services CAH could offer my mother was (home care, case manager). She no longer had to depend exclusively on me! What a relief as a caregiver to know that certain things are being handled by others.”
